Accepted students will participate in a 10-week intensive laboratory research experience, where they will work closely with a faculty mentor on a project. Students will also participate in the signature component of the summer program, the Amgen Scholars U.S. Symposium. Held in California, the symposium provides students a valuable opportunity to hear from leading scientists working in industry and academia, and to network with other Amgen Scholars from across the country. The program concludes with a poster symposium at Washington University in St. Louis where Scholars present on their summer projects.
